Pierce Brosnan weighs in on Tom Hardy feud reports
Pierce Brosnan calls Tom Hardy feud reports a 'storm in a teacup'
Pierce Brosnan has dismissed reports of a feud between him and MobLand co-star Tom Hardy, calling the rumours overblown.
The 73-year-old actor was at the London premiere of the Guy Ritchie crime series when he weighed in on the matter, calling it a "storm in a teacup."
"Oh my God, it was a storm in a teacup, really. I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy. I’m a massive fan of the man’s work. Truly," he told the press.
Speculation about behind-the-scenes tension surfaced during filming of the show's second season, with reports suggesting Hardy had clashed with showrunners over script disagreements and had kept castmates waiting on set.
Those rumours were later downplayed after reports confirmed Hardy remained part of the cast, and co-star Helen Mirren publicly showed her support for him online.
Brosnan reiterated that there was no real conflict and even described the cast and crew as tight-knit.
"Everyone shows up for work, and everybody’s just there on the spot," he added. "It moves very fast so it’s not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything like that."
"Everyone goes home to their families and before you know it, you’ve done 10 episodes."
Hardy also spoke positively about working alongside Brosnan and Mirren, calling it a privilege to collaborate with actors he's long admired.
"They’re awesome," he said. "In many aspects of course I look up to them. Coming up, these are actors that came before me. So to be able to work with them is a privilege."
The upcoming season follows the Harrigan crime family as they attempt to stay united while facing new threats from rivals. Hardy's character, Harry Da Souza, remains central to the story, with Brosnan returning as mob boss Conrad Harrigan and Mirren playing his wife, Maeve.
MobLand's second season premieres globally on Paramount+ on September 18.
