Elon Musk's ex-wife makes explosive claims in new documentary
Elon Musk's first wife details alleged gaslighting in 'Musk' documentary
Elon Musk's first wife, Justine Musk, has spoken out about their marriage in a new documentary Musk, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
In the nearly-four hour documentary, the 54-year-old Justine revealed in part that she was made to feel "insignificant" throughout their relationship and only learned the term "gaslighting" through her experience with him.
“He was constantly remarking on the ways he found me lacking,” Justine claimed in the Alex Gibney-directed film.
Justine recalled one moment from their January 2000 wedding, saying Elon told her he was the "alpha" in their relationship while they danced and how he allegedly often spoke to her like a boss would address an employee.
The former couple had six children together before divorcing in 2008, including twins, triplets, and their firstborn son, Nevada, who died at 10 weeks old in 2002.
In the documentary, Justine disputed a previous claim Elon made online about who was holding their son during that loss, saying it was her.
She also addressed Elon's estrangement from their transgender daughter, Vivian, saying he has never attempted to repair their relationship, though he reportedly asked Justine to pass along that he'll "always love her."
Additionally, Justine claimed Elon cut off her health insurance at one point.
Elon did not participate in the documentary and has previously called it a "hit piece" on social media. Justine's comments join those of other women connected to Musk, including Ashley St. Clair, who said she turned down a $40 million NDA to participate in the film and shared a text in which Musk allegedly expressed wanting to have many children before a "civil war."
Musk is set for wide release on October 16.
