Why King Charles said 'no' to Harry, Meghan's 'half-in' royal plan? Truth comes out
King Charles made it clear that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not returning to royal duties
King Charles has definitively ruled out the possibility of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returning to royal duties.
On September 7, the 77-year-old monarch issued a formal letter clarifying that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not resume royal duties despite their recent return to Britain.
This development comes amidst questions regarding whether Harry and Meghan can revive the "half-in, half-out" arrangement that was rejected when they stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
"The palace's position is now unequivocal – the Sussexes are not working royals, their HRH styles remain in abeyance and their public and charitable activities must be regarded as private endeavors," a royal source claimed to RadarOnline.com.
"Charles' intervention effectively prevents Harry and Meghan's appearances from being confused with engagements undertaken on behalf of Charles or the monarchy – regardless of how prominent their activities become following their return. He was essentially sick of the Sussexes posing as working royals without his blessing," the insider added.
The letter, issued by the Lord Chamberlain Lord Benyon, stressed that Harry and Meghan are not working royals
"Following the decision by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to relocate to the UK, we have received a number of requests for guidance," the latter read. "To help avoid doubt or confusion, the King has directed that the following information be shared."
"In January 2020, the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of the sovereign, and are no longer working members of the Royal Family," it added.
