Patriots vs Seahawks: TreVeyon Henderson and Ty Okada ruled out of season opener

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson and Seattle Seahawks safety Ty Okada have been ruled out of their regular-season opener, which is a rematch of Super Bowl LX.

Henderson, 23, will miss the game with an ankle injury after last practising on August 24 and is New England’s No. 2 running back behind Rhamondre Stevenson.

Henderson played every regular-season and playoff game last season, recording 911 rushing yards on 180 carries and nine touchdowns.

He also became the first Patriots player to record four 50-yard runs or rushing touchdowns in a single season.

New England still has Stevenson and recently acquired Corey Kiner available, while Lan Larison or Hassan Haskins could be promoted from the practice squad.

Seattle will be without Okada, while safety Nick Emmanwori is also doubtful following ankle surgery in July.

Emmanwori was limited throughout this week’s injury reports and has yet to return to full participation.

Seahawks receiver Tory Horton is also questionable with a hamstring injury after being limited throughout the week.
