Damian Lewis' hidden talent comes to light ahead of 'Pressure' release: 'That's weird'
Damian Lewis shocks creators of 'Pressure' with his one secret talent
Damian Lewis’ one hidden talent helped him in filming his new movie, Pressure.
For those unaware, the 2026 war drama film directed and edited by Anthony Maras is based on Haig's 2014 stage play. It stars the 55-year-old Actor and musician as British Army General Sir Bernard Montgomery, the Commander-in-Chief of the 21st Army Group and overall, Commander of Allied Ground Forces for the invasion.
While conversing with PEOPLE magazine, Maras revealed, “Damian Lewis has to do a scene where he has to speak for two minutes in front of a video or a film projector, showing what all the preparations have been done for D-Day up until that point. We didn’t cut this until the last minute.”
“He didn’t have time to prepare, so initially, I was going to do it on a computer in such a way as to time it to how he spoke,” The Palace director added. “He said, ‘Forget all that, let me see the video.’”
Maras went on to share that Lewis would memorize his line just by hearing them twice as he would not get in sync for a full two minutes.
He said of the Homeland star, “He said, ‘Let me have a look at it.’ He looks, [says], ‘Show me it one more time.’ He goes, ‘Alright, I’m ready.’ I’m like, ‘Come on, mate.’ He goes, ‘I’m ready.’”
“I don’t know what kind of photographic, weird memory he has, but he synced his speech to the frame, to the second of what was playing behind him that he’d only seen twice. He’s got some kind of special talent for that, or eyes in the back of his head maybe, I don’t know,” Anthony Maras gushed.
It is pertinent to mention that Pressure opened in cinemas in the United States on May 29, 2026, and is set to hit theatres in the United Kingdom and Ireland on September 9, 2026.
