Melanie Zanetti, who voices Chili, the mom of Bluey and Bingo, was filming in Italy when an AD from the series approached her.

What he said to her gave the actress a wider understanding, and she realized the mass appeal of the animated series Bluey went beyond Australia, where it is generally based.

“I was also filming something in Italy, and the first AD came and said, ‘Oh my gosh, Bluey," she told People.

"It’s my whole life. It’s exactly like my family.’ And this is someone in a different country who speaks a different language. And it resonates that feeling.”

Now, the show is branching out into a full-fledged movie, and David McCormack, who voices the kids' dad, teased that it will introduce new characters.

“Bringing in some new characters, Italy," he said, adding, “These new characters are going to be very exciting."

Zanetti, meanwhile, added her character will experience “more of an emotional rollercoaster in the film."

“[It will be] very exciting for everyone to see why that happens to me,” the actress said.

Bluey's official logline read, "An inexhaustible six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy uses boundless imagination to turn everyday family life into extraordinary playful adventures with her parents and younger sister."
