Tim Curry, the legendary actor with several unforgettable characters, has passed away.

He was 80.

According to TMZ, he died at his home in Los Angeles. It is unclear what his cause of death is.

Though back in 2012, he suffered a major stroke during a massage, and the brain surgery afterward paralyzed his left side.

Born in Grappenhall, Cheshire, in 1946, Curry's childhood was spent moving to different places in England due to his father worked as a navy chaplain.

Exactly this constant traveling pushed the actor toward acting, he said in his memoir, Vagabond.

“Vagabonds rove,” he penned. “We travel about and pick up work wherever we go. We wander, drift, stagger, wink.”

The star continued, “Vagabonds learn, often from a young age, that indeed time is fleeting. As is fame—a fairly worthless pursuit, really.”

Her first stab at performing was in Hair, a stage show, where he met actor/writer Richard O'Brien.

The meeting later turned into Curry landing one of the iconic roles of his career: Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show.

In his own admission, the role transformed not only his career but also his personal self.

“Playing somebody like that wakes you up to new dimensions of human nature," he wrote in his memoir.

"I learned not to limit myself—artistically, professionally, sexually, or mentally," the actor noted.

But Frank-N-Further was just the start; Curry went on to step into several hit roles, including William Shakespeare in Will Shakespeare, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Amadeus, Rooster in Annie, Wadsworth in Clue, Pennywise in the 1990s It, Mr Hector in Home Alone: 2, and Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island.
