Palace makes hilarious remarks about Duchess Sophie after latest honour

Palace has made hilarious remarks about Duchess Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, after she received another honour.

Sophie has been confirmed as the new royal patron of the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST).

The announcement was made during her visit to the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead.

The engagement represented Sophie’s inaugural official appearance in the patronage role.

The palace shared photos of Sophie from her trip, where she went skiing to mark the new patronage.

Sophie’s photos were shared with hilarious caption, “That’s one way to cool down in a heatwave” with laughing emoticon.

The palace also said, “The Duchess of Edinburgh has become Royal Patron of Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team, a charity supporting wounded, injured and sick serving personnel and veterans through adaptive skiing, snowboarding and Nordic disciplines.”

“During a visit to The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, Her Royal Highness heard about the breadth of the charity’s programmes and joined athletes on the indoor slopes.”

The remarks came as Europe is bracing for another wave of extreme heat, with temperatures forecast to reach the mid-30s Celsius in parts of Britain and France and spread across much of the continent.

The latest heatwave comes after record-breaking temperatures, worsening drought, major wildfires and thousands of excess deaths, while dangerously low river levels threaten water supplies, according to AFP.
