King Charles settles into grandmother's estate for summer break

King Charles has begun his summer break in Scotland at The Castle and Gardens of Mey.

Sharing a picture of the monarch, the estate’s Instagram account said, “The King has planted a new addition to the Diamond Jubilee Rose Garden, The King’s Rose” to mark the beginning of his summer break.

It said the Castle and Gardens of Mey once belonged to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

Purchased by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in 1952, The Castle and Gardens of Mey in Caithness is now managed and run by The King's Foundation, the monarch’s nature and sustainability charity.

In the photo shared by the estate King Charles is seen wearing a kilt, a traditional Scottish outfit.

The post did not mention whether Queen Camilla also accompanied King Charles to Scotland.
