Perez Hilton's family issues statement after his traumatic livestream: 'We remain hopeful'

Perez Hilton's family has shared a major update about the celebrity blogger’s health just one day after he appeared to self-harm on TikTok Live.

In a message posted to Perez' website, his family confirmed that the 48-year-old blogger is “able to communicate."

“Our family wants to once again thank everyone who has reached out with prayers, kind messages, and support for Perez,” the statement read. “Your compassionate humanity during this profoundly heartbreaking time has meant more than words can express.”

According to the statement, the incident has been “extremely difficult” for the family, but they “remain hopeful” about the columnist's condition.

“We have also been able to confirm that Perez is able to communicate, which has given our family hope,” the family penned.

“We respectfully ask for your continued prayers, understanding, and grace as Perez continues to recover,” the message read. “We will share additional updates as we receive confirmed information and are able to do so.

"We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family's focus right now is on his well-being," the statement concluded. "We kindly ask that you respect Perez's privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time."

For those unversed, Perez was hospitalized on August 4 after attempting to harm himself during a live stream on TikTok.
