Prince William is marking the World Ranger Day, celebrated worldwide on July 31st to commemorate Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty.

It also celebrates the work Rangers do to protect the planet's natural treasures and cultural heritage.

In a joint post with Kensington Palace, the United for Wildlife, of which Prince William is the founder, shared a video on Instagram saying, “Today is World Ranger Day.”

It further said, “Across the world, rangers work every day to protect wildlife, ecosystems and the natural landscapes we all depend on. But this vital work does not come without its challenges.”

The statement further honoured and celebrated the remarkable contributions of rangers everywhere, recognising their courage, dedication and lasting impact in safeguarding the planet.

The video also features reflections from Leitah Mkhabela, Supervisor of the Black Mambas.

In the video, Prince William is heard saying, “(Rangers) Risking their lives day in day out, protecting nature’s front line.

“The nature defenders, they are holding the line for special precious things that we care about all around the world.”

Reacting to the video, one fan commented, “Absolute legends, every single one of them. I have an enormous amount of respect for what these men and women do. Thank you!”

Another said, “What a beautiful thing, but a very risky and challenging job. They deserve all the help and praise possible.”
