Prince Harry receives public verdict after reported plans for more UK visits

Prince Harry has come under fresh criticism after reports claimed he wants to make more trips to the UK if he is given taxpayer-funded security.

Reports say Prince Harry became more determined to fight for full security protection after King Charles reunited with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet earlier this month. It was the family's first meeting in four years as they reunited at Highgrove on July 10.

Prince Harry has been in a legal dispute with the UK government since stepping down as a working royal in 2020 and moving to the United States.

Last year, he lost his appeal against a decision that reduced his security while visiting Britain.

The reports have now sparked strong reactions online. "We don't want him here," one social media user wrote on X.

Another questioned why Prince Harry wanted UK security if he was "happy and settled overseas."

A third person added that the Duke of Sussex was not entitled to taxpayer-funded protection after choosing to step away from royal duties.

A report by The Mirror states Prince Harry is now expected to ask the new Home Secretary to review his security arrangements after a new prime minister takes office.

Prince Harry has said the security issue is one of the main reasons he and his family rarely visit the UK. He has also argued that his children cannot feel at home in Britain if they cannot be kept safe during visits.

In a BBC interview last year, Prince Harry said King Charles was "not speaking" to him because of the security dispute. However, Prince Harry said he hoped the family could reconcile.
