Emmys: Prince Williams inclusion after Meghans nomination sparks claims of hypocrisy

Just as Meghan’s critics began attacking the Emmys for nominating the Duchess of Sussex, Prince William’s TV appearance has also received a nomination.

The Prince of Wales’s episode of The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program.

Meghan and Prince Harry have spoken out against online campaigns targeting them, but critics and trolls continue to go after them relentlessly.

This time the Emmys themselves came under fire for nominating the Duchess of Sussex.

That backlash has now quieted somewhat, with a show featuring Prince William also nominated.

According to independent observers, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced sustained attacks from some supporters of the British royal family since stepping down as working royals.

They, however, add the trolls have received little public backing from the royal family itself.

While attacks on Meghan are likely to continue, the trolling of the Emmy Awards may now ease, given that the nominations also include Prince William.
