Zendaya's three-word response ends Tom Holland's confusion over joining 'The Odyssey'
Tom Holland recalls a conversation with Zendaya after 'The Odyssey' was offered to him
Tom Holland was supposedly in a fix when he was offered The Odyssey by Christopher Nolan.
His reason for concern at the time was a clash of Greek epic with his beloved Spider-Man franchise's new installment.
As both films' shooting schedules tend to overlap.
This left the British actor seemingly confused. To get clarity, he turned to his partner, Zendaya, who herself ultimately became part of The Odyssey.
"To be honest, when I got home after our meeting, I sat down with [partner Zendaya] and was like, “I’ve been offered this movie.” And she was like, “By who?” I was like, “It’s the big one.”
He continued, "And then we had Spider-Man that was literally scheduled to go the same day that we would start shooting."
Then, Hollan recalled, Zendaya's three-word response, which cleared her confusion and left him motivated, was, she said, “I’ll leave you if you don’t do The Odyssey.”
Before his mind had gotten crystal clear on hopping on The Odyssey, Holland remembered his initial thought when the film was offered.
"I remember my brain scrambling when you told me the movie you were going to make, and I hadn’t read it," he told People.
"I was searching every corner of my brain for any bit of information to try and make myself look intelligent."
The Odyssey is in theatres on July 17.
