King Charles III on Friday visited the University of Oxford where he opened the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for Humanities, said a statement issued by the royal family.

The King visited the university as his younger son, Prince Harry, took part in an event in Birmingham to mark the official one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games.

According to a senior British journalist, the Duke of Sussex is reportedly trying to meet his father during his visit.

Neither Harry nor Buckingham Palace has confirmed that a meeting between the king and his son is expected to take place.

Meanwhile, the royal family also shared 10 pictures of the monarch from his visit during which he “met representatives from local community groups”.

He also visited the Bate Collection of musical instruments and viewed the Sohmen Concert Hall.

The statement read, “A musical start to the day. His Majesty officially opened the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for Humanities at the University of Oxford.

“This centre brings together seven humanities faculties and research institutes, along with world-class libraries, exhibition areas and performance spaces,” it added.
