'We now have proof': Prince William drops facts at London event
Prince William speaks at Earthshot Prize’s impact assembly for London Climate Action Week
Prince William has highlighted the achievements made by his Earthshot Prize Award initiative during his speech at impact assembly for London Climate Action Week.
The heir-to-the British throne launched the Earthshot Prize in 2020, with the aim of making huge strides towards fixing environmental problems within a decade.
"When we launched The Earthshot Prize in 2020 we believe we could show the world evidence of progress, progress towards what felt like immense climate and nature goals," he said.
In a video shared by Kensington Palace, William says, "Today we have more than belief, we now have proof."
A nod to former US President John F. Kennedy's "moonshot" project which led to the 1969 lunar landing, the goal of William's initiative is to find innovations to combat climate and other green issues, and awards five winners 1 million pounds ($1.3 million) each to drive their projects.
