A week after Tree’s shocking demise, his team announced the return of his body to California a week after the helicopter collision in an Instagram post on Sunday, June 21.

To pay tribute to the Cowboy Tears crooner, his team revealed that a foundation would be created to support artists in order to keep his legacy alive.

They began, "Rest in peace Oliver Tree Nickell. Your legacy will live on forever. [red heart emoji]. Oliver is now back in California where he can finally rest.”

“His legacy will live on through his foundation/endowment named 'Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant For Baby Geniuses' coming soon. This is something that Oliver had put together before his passing, written in his will. We will make sure his wish comes to fruition so that more joy, love and art can be spread into the world. That was his final wish,” the team shared.

They went on to show gratitude to those who have “reached out, shown love, support” and have “done incredible tributes for Oliver.”

His grieving family finds ease in “constant love, support and positivity” in “these extremely difficult times," as per the statement.

"Love you all so much, Oliver would be so proud of every one of his supporters, friends and family. Peace be with Oliver … [red heart emoji],” the team concluded.

It is pertinent to mention that Oliver Tree was among six people who lost their lives in the crash.
