Romeo Beckham handed fine and points after police stop

Romeo Beckham is in hot waters, involving a fine and penalty points after police caught him using his phone while sitting in his car in central London.

The incident happened in September last year when officers stopped Romeo, the second eldest child of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, in Westminster.

A police officer told the court that he saw Beckham looking down at a mobile phone while waiting at traffic lights in his Porsche 911.

The officer said Beckham appeared to be scrolling on the phone while the car was stationary. The officer also noticed a dog sitting unsecured on a female passenger's lap and spoke to Beckham about it after stopping the vehicle.

Police initially offered Beckham the chance to avoid court by paying a fine and completing a driver awareness course. 

However, the court heard that he did not respond to the offer. 

The case then went to court, where Beckham was found guilty of not being in proper control of his vehicle.

He was fined £440 and received three penalty points on his driving licence. He was also ordered to pay £130 in court costs and a £176 victim surcharge.

The incident comes seven years after his father, David, faced a similar punishment for using a mobile phone while driving.

On the professional fronts, Romeo has taken up modelling in recent years and even launched a fashion label.

He previously played football with youth teams including Arsenal F.C. and later spent time with Inter Miami CF.
