This comes after the renewed interest in Netflix documentary The Crash, examining the fatal 2022 incident. While prosecutors argue that Mackenzie intentionally drove her vehicle into a brick killing both passengers, she has maintained that she did not cause the crash deliberately.

Now, the source said, "Mackenzie is totally buzzed that there's so much interest in her case. She and her parents are convinced they'll get through this and come out strong – not to mention rich and famous."

In the documentary, Mackenzie explained, "I have no recollection of that morning. I'm not saying I'm innocent. was a driver of a tragedy, but I'm not a murderer."

During the jailhouse call, Mackenzie reportedly gushed to her mother, "Maybe Kim Kardashian will reach out herself."

The source says, "What Mackenzie wants more than anything is to get Kim Kardashian in her corner ... Even though a lot of folks are saying it's not the type of cause Kim wants to support."

As per the insiders, Mackenzie is "certain" that Kim Kardashian can save her and "make her a star."
