Prince George's school finally revealed: He'll follow father William's footsteps
Like Prince George, his father, Prince William, attended Eton
Prince George is officially heading to Eton College, a £63,000-a-year institution in whose halls once dwelled his father, Prince William.
Prior to the decision, there had been speculation that the future king may go to the prestigious school, which is close to his home — a 15-minute drive from Forest Lodge.
Now, Kensington Palace has confirmed the move, marking a new chapter for George, who will become part of an institution where Britain’s aristocrats as well as political elite’s children have been enrolled.
According to Sky News, the young prince’s parents, William and Kate Middleton, have mulled over several options, including the latter’s school, Marlborough College.
However, the pair eventually opted for an iconic all-boys school.
In addition, Prince William knows the ins and outs of the institution, making it a convenient choice for the family.
Again, the proximity of Eton College and Windsor has been so much nearer that during William’s school days, he often paid a visit to the late Queen Elizabeth II for afternoon tea.
George will join the school in September, when he turns 13.
Apart from him and his father, William, his uncle, Prince Harry, as well as his great-uncle, Earl Spencer, have also attended Eton College.
