Speaking to Mail Online, Royal expert Hugo Vickers said: "Peter Philips was incredibly good with the boys when Diana died, so I think it will be very good for them.

"Sometimes I think that when people behave very well in public, which I think they will do, they find it easier to behave better in private. Prince Philip and the Queen were conciliators all their life so I'm sure that is what he would have wanted."

Speaking about why Prince Harry might not have received an invite from Peter Phillips, expert Jennie Bond said: “Wedding guest lists are so often a nightmare! Who to include, who to leave out? Who will be offended? And the biggest no-no is to take attention away from the bride on her big day.

She told Mirror: “That’s undoubtedly what would happen if Harry, with or without Meghan, came to Peter and Harriet’s wedding. So it seems they have taken the most sensible course, which is to leave the Sussex‘s off the guest list, along with uncle Andrew and his ex, Sarah.”
