Hugh Jackman’s ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness leaves him with sleepless nights: ‘It’s a nightmare’

Hugh Jackman’s ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness is starting to become a major point of contention for the actor, so much so that he’s turned petrified about the impact she might have on his ‘good guy’ image following the aftermath of the May 2026 Met Gala where he showed up with his new ladylove Sutton Foster.

What is pertinent to mention about this turn of events is that initially reports suggest the duo’s separation was on friendly terms but all of that has fallen out now that she’s spoken out about her “traumatic journey of betrayal.”

Another thing that’s worthy to note is that the professional overlap that Sutton had with the star, between the years of 2021 to 2024 is causing many to suspect betrayal took place, especially since his and Deborra’s separation happened in 2024.

Either way now a source has spoken out and claims, “Deb has kept her side of the street squeaky clean, for the most part. She’s been incredibly dignified, and she still wants to meet with Sutton at some point, if only out of a willingness to be the bigger person.”

But she’s still “very hurt and betrayed” by Hugh’s actions, and “is now ready to push the red button on some of those plans that have been on ice for well over a year now.”

In order to achieve this she’s turned to a book, and its being described as “step one,” but “for Deb to justify the big bucks – she’ll have to lay everything out there, which will include Hugh’s shady behaviour with Sutton, and other occasions where he wasn’t exactly lily-white.”

Meanwhile the fear that Jackman feels is said to be palpable at this time the outlet even calls it ‘terror’ at being torn to shreds.

Whats worse, in Jackman’s eyes is that the paycheck that will come from something like this “does matter for her pride,” to some extent but “the bigger purpose in all of this for Deb would be to take back some control and reclaim her part in this story.”

After all she’s said to have spent years helping Hugh build this image of being the ultimate devoted husband and all-around good guy, “only to now watch herself totally erased from the picture while he parades around with Sutton.”

“It might not be so hard to take if they weren’t rubbing their romance in her face while she’s still picking up the pieces after the divorce,” they also added. But before concluding the source did make one thing clear and its that “as much as she’s not a vengeful person, that has pushed her buttons. The truth is, she never got the chance to have any closure.”

But, “in Hollywood, scandal sells, and it’s an absolute nightmare for Hugh. He’s cultivated this good guy image for so many decades now, which is already in tatters thanks to the way he’s handled this divorce. There’s no telling how far he could fall if Deb totally exposes everything.”
