'Supergirl' star and director have these words for Jason Momoa
Jason Momoa has a lifelong dream to portray Lobo on-screen
Jason Momoa has a long-time dream: to become Lobo in DC.
But he was previously roped in as Aquaman in the franchise.
After playing the 'King under the sea' for years, a sign of achieving his lifelong dream emerged for Momoa.
It was when the DC universe was rebooted under the new leadership.
As Peter Safran and James Gunn hearlded into franchise new era, Momoa texted the latter, "F****** Lobo."
It appeared the actor did not let his goal out of his sight, and notably Gunn similarly wanted Momoa to play Lobo.
Now, as the star is set to debut his new DC character in the upcoming Supergirl, Craig Gillespie, the movie's director, has a few words to say.
In an interview with Empire, he said Momoa was perfect to portray the iconic comic-book character.
“I was thrilled to have him,” Gillespie shared. “I couldn’t imagine anybody else."
"But it’s a pressure... [we asked ourselves a] million questions to pay homage to the original.”
Echoing Gillespie's views, Milly Alcock, who plays Supergirl, said the Game of Thrones star was born for the role.
“Jason had such presence,” she noted. "He is Lobo."
"And it was exciting to see somebody living out their dream," the actress shared.
Supergirl will head to cinemas on June 24.
