Netflix greenlights Young Thug documentary on YSL trial
Netflix documentary will focus on Young Thug's YSL Rico trial
Young Thug and his record label YSL faced the longest trial in Georgia's history. Now, Netflix is making a documentary to spotlight the chaos and drama in the case.
Titled Young Thug on Trial, the documentary will be a 90-minute feature film focusing on the YSL Rico Trial, which spanned more than a year.
However, it ended with Thug striking a deal that involved no extra prison time, but 15 years of probation.
Shianne Brown will serve as director, with Passion Docs as producer, along with Kari Lia and Hamish Fergusson as executive producers.
According to the description, "Major feature documentary covering the extraordinary rise and trial of Jeffery Williams, aka Young Thug, and his band of brothers from the streets of Atlanta."
"Prosecutors set out to prove that he and his music label were actually a criminal street gang. High drama meets farce in this incredible story where a city and even rap itself are on trial," the logline read.
