Katie Price's ex Peter Andre reveals how he and Emily handled favouritism concerns

Peter Andre has addressed possibilities of favouritism when raising children, especially in blended families.

The 53-year-old singer and TV personality, who shares three children with his wife, Emily MacDonagh, and also co-parents two older children, 20-year-old Junior and 18-year-old Princess, with former wife Katie Price, shared his approach to avoiding favouritism in his new! magazine column.

Andre reflected on the topic after hearing comments from Scarlett Moffatt, who is currently expecting her second child with fiancé Scott Dobinson, as she had recently admitted she wants to make sure her two-year-old son Jude does not feel left out when the new baby arrives.

"Scarlett Moffatt is currently expecting her second child and while she is excited for her two-year-old son to have a brother, she's determined to avoid any sort of favouritism when the new baby arrives. That is a very important thing," Andre wrote in his column, per Mirror.

He continued, "I love all my kids equally but it's really difficult when you have to focus on a new baby. Emily and I approached this by taking turns − if one focused on the baby, the other would focus on the others and then we'd swap." 

He also shared a memory from his own childhood, recalling how his mother once responded when her children asked which child she loved the most. 

"We never wanted our children to feel they weren't as important in those moments. I'll never forget something mum said when I was a kid, and we asked her to pick her favourite child. She said 'Which one of my fingers would hurt the least to cut off?' She was trying to say that the pain would be equal − and that is the same with love."

Ironically, his two cents on avoiding favouritism come despite having posted zero pictures with Junior or Princess in years, while he continues to heavily post his younger children.
