King reacts as national flag falls at official event
King Felipe VI and his daughter Princess Leonor saw Spanish flag falling during a parade
King Felipe VI and Princess Leonor were mid-salute when Spain's flag fell during an Armed Forces Day parade in Vigo.
The king was seen visibly reacting as the flag dropped while being hoisted.
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia led the main event of the Armed Forces Day, a large military parade in which 3,700 personnel, 70 aircraft, more than a hundred vehicles, and 32 motorcycles took part.
Princess Leonor, who is undergoing three years of her military training at the General Air Academy in San Javier (Murcia), also attended the parade.
According to the local media, Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles; the Chief of the Defense Staff (JEMAD), Admiral General Teodoro Esteban López Calderón; the Chiefs of Staff of the Army, General Amador Enseñat y Berea; of the Air and Space Force, General Francisco Braco Carbó; and of the Navy, Admiral General Antonio Piñeiro were also in attendance.
