Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 release date announced: Check date, leaks here
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, but it’s weirdly missing from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
Call of Duty is heading to the Korean Peninsula. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23, 2026, bringing the franchise into darker and more dangerous territory with a geopolitical conflict that threatens global stability.
The new entry is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, but it’s weirdly missing from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
In the game Modern Warfare 4, players step into the boots of Private Park, a young and inexperienced South Korean soldier tossed straight into the mix during a full-scale invasion carried out by North Korea. Relentless fighting ensues for Park and his small unit, as cities crumble and counterattacks persist.
The campaign takes place in several different arenas, from trench warfare in Korea to close-quarter engagements in New York, intense car chases through Paris, secret SAS missions in Mumbai, and all-out attacks to retake areas under enemy control.
While following the adventures of Private Park, the campaign follows the exploits of Captain Price, now an outlaw operator seeking revenge for past wrongs. In his quest for a weapon that can tilt the balance of power in the world, Captain Price's hunt becomes tangled up with the events unfolding in Korea.
For the multiplayer aspects of Modern Warfare 4, "Ballistic Authority" is introduced, a weapon-first technology stack that integrates precision, physics, audio, visibility and perception. With the implementation of Ballistic Authority, bloom is completely eliminated, and hipfire shots are straight and reliable.
Recoil and weapon handling are rebuilt to reflect player input more faithfully. Depth-of-field improvements enhance enemy visibility without sacrificing authenticity. Weapons respond naturally to player movement, stance changes, and environmental factors.
The multiplayer launches with 12 core maps across global locations plus dedicated Gunfight maps and Big War scenarios. Kill Block, a training facility with 500+ possible configurations that reconfigure between rounds, introduces dynamic environments that force real-time tactical adaptation.
A redesigned Create-a-Class system unifies operators, weapons, equipment, and killstreaks into single loadouts for faster customisation.
