Danish King runs with thousands behind him
His children, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine completed the Family Mile on Monday
King Frederik's daughters and son earned medals at the Royal Run in Copenhagen on Monday as thousands took part in the annual fitness event, said a statement issued by the royal family.
It said Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine completed the Family Mile. King Frederik was also seen running in photos and in videos shared by the royal family on Instagram.
Local media reported that the nationwide event drew record participation across multiple cities.
Earlier a Danish language statement issued by the king on the royal family's website said, “The sun is shining, and in a moment I will start this year’s Royal Run in Randers.”
He said “More than 112,000 Danes have signed up for this year’s run, and I look forward, together with my family, to travelling around the country and experiencing the atmosphere in the host cities.”
