King Charles finally considers abdication: UK barrister speaks out

King Charles’ health, his cancer battle and formal updates have royal fans waiting with baited breath, but in recent months some are starting to wonder if abdication may be on the horizon for the monarch.

This comes amid Kate Middleton’s own return to the public sphere after a year of prioritizing her health following a cancer battle of her own.

Regarding this UK barrister and broadcaster Andrew Eborn was the one who spoke out, and fed the growing rumor mill during his chat with Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.

His conversation with the outlet was brief and it saw him say, “there are reasons that he’s looking at it.”

But he did not end there, instead he made sure to add, “King Charles, to his credit, he’s not been in the best of health.”

Moreover, despite the fact that he’s doing the rounds, the broadcaster admitted, “it is exhausting,” non the less “and he’s had his own challenges and so on and so forth, so nothing’s been worked out”.

“But there have been these plans ... as to what would happen in the event of an abdication,” he added before signing off.

What is pertinent to mention regarding King Charles’ cancer battle is that the specific form of cancer that he is battling has not yet been revealed, much like his daughter-in-law but earlier this year, following the Christmas season of 2025 there was a formal update that promised some good news.

According to it the monarch has been able to reduce the frequency of his chemotherapy but no update since then has been shared.
