Hayden Panettiere has shared her traumatizing experience of giving birth to her daughter Kaya.

In a new interview with E! News promoting her new memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning, the 36-year-old actress revealed that she nearly died from hemorrhaging while giving birth to her daughter in 2014.

"I was sitting there and getting the C-section, and I knew that I was knocking on death's doorstep," Hayden told the outlet.

“I just had the most motherly moment, though, where I said, 'God, please let me hear my daughter cry. I just want to know that she is okay and if it's my time to go, I'm okay with that,'“ she added.

As per the publication, the Heroes alum underwent seven blood transfusions to overcome an infection.

However, Hayden insisted she was prepared to sacrifice herself to make sure her daughter was safe.

"I wasn't afraid at all,” said the actress.

On May 18, Hayden also opened up about her birth experience during an interview with CBS Mornings.

“I had a really rough birth to the point where I almost didn't make it through,” the singer recalled. “And then the postpartum depression started.”

“There I am with this beautiful, healthy, beautiful baby girl and this very fortunate life, and I could not for the life of me be happy,” she added. “I was so depressed and I just couldn't find my way out [of] the dark.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Hayden shares Kaya with her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko.
