Meghan Markle 'irritated' as Princess Kate 'steals thunder'
Meghan Markle believes Kate Middleton's solo trip to Italy is a PR move
Meghan Markle is reportedly “irritated” with the royal family stealing the “limelight” from her and Prince Harry.
On Monday, an insider told In Touch Weekly that the Duchess of Sussex believes Kate Middleton's solo trip to Italy is a PR move aimed at stealing her and Prince Harry‘s thunder.
“From Meghan’s perspective, the timing couldn’t be more obvious,” the insider said. “She and Harry have just come back from this great overseas trip [to Australia] and they’re finally getting some positive press, and suddenly Kate’s everywhere again.”
“It’s clear she’s trying to reestablish her territory and Meghan is convinced it’s because Kate is feeling threatened,” continued the source. “Meghan has always said that Kate was unnecessarily competitive with her from the first time they met, and as far as she’s concerned this is more of the same."
The source also said the royal family does not want Meghan and Harry to do unofficial tours.
“Meghan says this whole rollout of appearances and projects by Kate is a calculated move to shift the focus back onto her and the monarchy,” the source revealed. “She doesn’t believe for one second it’s a coincidence.”
“Meghan says every time she and Harry start building momentum, the royal machine suddenly swings into action and steals the spotlight away from them again, and she’s sick and tired of it," a tipster added.
According to the BBC, Princess Kate will arrive in Reggio Emilia on May 13, which will be her first foreign visit since going public with her cancer diagnosis in 2024.
