B. J. Novak recalls cute moment with Mindy Kaling's daughter Katherine

B. J. Novak is sharing a sweet insight into his bond with Mindy Kaling's daughter along with a glimpse into his laid-back lifestyle.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Novak revealed that Kaling's 8-year-old daughter, Katherine, once expressed a wish to live at his home.

“Her 8-year-old daughter recently said she wished they lived at my house. When I asked why, she said, ‘It’s like a little house in the country,’” said Novak, who is also Katherine’s godfather.

The Office alum went on to describe his Los Angeles home with humor.

“I live in a Midcentury house in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of L.A. I wanted one with a view but not up a creepy road with coyotes and Charles Manson acolytes,” he joked.

Though he has lived there since 2011, Novak shared that he has little interest in renovations.

“I no longer believe in them. You're better off falling in love with your home's quirks and just enjoying them.”
