Lizzo drops bombshell announcement of third album 'Bitch'
Lizzo shares how she treats the term, which she says was once used as an insult
Lizzo is hitting back at the music scene, this time a lot louder and in a bolder style, announcing Bitch, her third studio album.
The announcement comes as the chart-topping artist turns 38. The album will come out on June 5.
In her unapologetic style, she drops a statement stating the album took inspiration from the iconic song of the same name by Meredith Brooks.
"Reclaiming the word 'bitch' is power," the Pink hitmaker states, owning what she says was once an insult.
"It's taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence and unapologetic self-love."
Lizzo, however, says she is not the first female artist to treat the term like a badge of honour.
"So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity, like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliot."
The album's announcement comes after Lizzo released Don't Make Me Love U and the chart-topping artist dominated the Blue Note Jazz Club in Los Angeles and New York with 12 sold-out shows.
Not to mention, Lizzo's electrifying performance at the Houston Rodeo earlier this month was a spectacle for her 70,000 fans.
