Emma Watson on what she still misses about Hollywood: 'I really won the lottery'
Emma Watson made an honest revelation about what she still misses about her time in the industry
Emma Watson made surprising confession about her life in Hollywood.
Opening up about the part of Hollywood she does not miss, the Harry Potter alum admitted that while she still cherishes the craft of acting, the promotional side of the industry left her feeling drained while speaking during a resurfaced 2025 interview with Hollywood Authentic.
“In some ways I really won the lottery [with acting], and what happened to me is so unusual,” she said, reflecting on her career.
However, she explained that the balance between creating art and promoting it often felt off.
“But a bigger component than the actual job itself is the promotion and selling of that piece of work… I’ll be honest and straightforward, and say: I do not miss selling things. I found that to be quite soul-destroying.”
Despite stepping back from the spotlight, Watson made it clear she still misses the creative side of her work.
“But I do very much miss using my skill set, and I very much miss the art,” she shared.
Before conclusion, she said, “I just found I got to do so little of the bit that I actually enjoyed.”
