Dave Grohl has recalled how he was left feeling “mortified” after drinking two bottles of expensive wine at an A-list actor’s home.

During an appearance on the Dish podcast, the Foo Fighters’ front man recounted the time he attended a dinner at the “house of a very famous actor.”

Even though Dave did not reveal the name of the actor but he did describe how he purchased a “cool” bottle of wine from a vineyard in the Napa Valley as a gift for the host.

“I was invited over to the house of a very famous actor, who I’d never really met before,” he told co-hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett.

“At the time, I was the only person who drank here at this dinner. So, I’m left with this bottle of wine, and it is so f**king good. I downed it like a Pepsi. I was like, ‘Wooooooah.’ And then, another bottle arrived. And I’, like, ‘F**k, this is great.’ Destroy that bottle. I’m like, ‘This is the best wine I’ve had in my life, it’s amazing,’” the musician further recalled.

The next day, the Best of You rocker emailed the actor to thank him for inviting him to the dinner and to ask the brand of the wine he had been drinking.

“And it was a Château Haut-Brion. I had no idea. So, I Google it. Holy s**t. I just drank $20,000 worth of wine. I was mortified. So, I immediately email this person and was like, @I’m so f**king sorry,’” the 57-year-old sighed.

But to Dave’s surprise, the actor wasn’t too bothered. “And the response was, ‘That’s what it’s for,’” he smiled.

Dave Grohl is currently promoting the Foo Fighters’ 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy which is scheduled for release on Friday, April 24.
