Kanye West hit with fresh ban calls ahead of mega concert
Calls for Kanye West ban grow due to his past antisemitism outbursts
Kanye West is facing setbacks one by one after a string of concerts was axed over his previous anti-Semitic remarks.
Now, there is a fear that his show in Italy might also be on the chopping block.
Part of Hellwat Festival, a concert by Ye in Reggio Emilia - a city of Italy - is set to take place on July 18.
The stakes are high for West because his performance at the RCF Arena, which can hold over 100,000 fans, could make it one of the Chicago rapper's biggest shows, if it happens.
However, criticism of the concert is getting loud as Jewish groups as well as anti-fascist activists are demanding to axe the Donda rapper's performance.
Voices from circles of Italy's politics are also raising concerns about the West's show in the European country.
Pina Picierno, a politician in Italy and a V.P. of the European Parliament, tells La Gazzetta di Reggio that her country should follow set by the UK and France and bar the Grammy winner from performing.
"The United Kingdom denied the visa. France effectively prevented the Marseille concert ... Italy, meanwhile, is just staying idle with 68,000 tickets sold, as if nothing had happened."
Despite the outcry, West appears not to be backing down, as he is set to perform in several countries, including India, Portugal, Turkey, Spain, and the Netherlands.
