Rumors are swirling that the rapper was killed during filming of a song
Rapper YTB Fatt is alive and unharmed after rumors of his death spread rapidly on social media, his family and associates said on Wednesday.
The artist, whose real name is Cavon Deshawn Paige, was not injured during a shooting that occurred while a music video was being filmed at his grandmother's house in the West Memphis area, according to statements from his brother, known as Pimp K, and his manager.
Family members confirmed that the rapper's sister was shot and injured in the incident. She is reported to be receiving medical treatment.Viral posts on platforms including X, Instagram and TikTok had claimed the 24-year-old Arkansas-born rapper was shot and killed, prompting widespread concern among fans.
Those reports were quickly debunked by close associates who described the claims as false.
No arrests have been reported in connection with the shooting. Police in the Memphis area have not issued an official statement.
