Kylie Minogue pulls an April Fools' Day prank on her fans
Kylie Minogue leaves fans shocked with genius April Fools' stunt
Kylie Minogue pulled off a clever April Fools' Day prank on her fans.
The pop icon revealed she created an entire mock EP, complete with cover art and tracklist, convincing followers that new music had just dropped.
The idea was inspired by 2019 appearance from Will Ferrell on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he jokingly listed nonexistent Kylie songs while in character.
Revealing via video on Instagram, Kylie said that she and her team began subtly teasing the fake project, sharing a blurry cover before unveiling the supposed EP titled Hot Air Balloon for Two.
Many fans rushed to stream or purchase the release only to be redirected to one of her classic hits instead.
In the caption on social media, Kylie Minogue wrote, "Okay okay Lovers I owe you one for that April Fools Fun."
"High five @teamkylie And shoutout to Ron & @jimmyfallon for all the lolz," the singer added.
She noted, "BUT WAIT … why were you all actually READY for it?! The energy??? The commitment???"
"I’m impressed LOVE YOU FOR REAL," Kylie concluded.
