Prince William plans for monarchy revealed as he gears up for ‘big changes’

Prince William is reportedly planning major shifts within the monarchy after taking over the throne from King Charles.

According to insiders, the reign on the Prince of Wales will look different from that of King Charles, who has faced many challenges since becoming king.

Charles has faced a turbulent period marked by his own cancer diagnosis, the Princess of Wales’s battle with cancer, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s never-ending drama and now Andrew’s controversy surrounding his past ties with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Now, a source told i Paper that William is determined to introduce meaningful but careful changes within the monarchy.

“The King has had to face so many terrible things: Harry and Meghan leaving, his cancer, the Princess of Wales’s cancer,” the source said.

They added, “The big changes will come with William. The challenge is bringing about gradual change in an institution that is supposed to represent continuity.”

This comes after a source told The Mirror that the Prince of Wales wants to modernise how the institution runs.

During the ongoing scrutiny over Andrew’s controversy surrounding his past ties with Jeffrey Epstein, William is trying his best to help his cancer-stricken father.

“There is a clear acknowledgment that the issues surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor have had an effect on public trust and there is united willingness to change that,” they said.

“The Prince of Wales has a clear focus and is determined to help the King in any way he can to restore that trust with the public and long term.

“Right now, the family and the country need stability, but there will come a time when he will bring in his own changes to ensure that accountability and purpose are front and centre of not only his role but the role of the institution.”
