Sydney Sweeney saved herself from brutal roast: Here's how
Sydney Sweeney's roast is intended to happen at the 2026 Golden Globes at the hands of the host Nikki Glaser
Nikki Glaser, the host of the 2026 Golden Globes, had several targets in mind to roast from the stage, including Sydney Sweeney.
But luckily, the actress escaped the razor-sharp jabs of the comedian by skipping the award ceremony.
The joke was about the 2025 movie Christy, where Sydney played boxing champion Christy Martin. Despite the anticipation, the film bombed at the box office.
Appearing on The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM, Nikki reveals the joke, stating, “Tonight is a night of celebration, but we can’t ignore that it’s a weird time in Hollywood."
“People just aren’t going to the theater to see things. If you don’t believe me, there was a movie this year where Sydney Sweeney played a lesbian who just bounced around in tiny shorts for two hours and it made $14.”
In addition, Nikki said she had jokes written for Brad Pitt, but, like Sydney, he was not present at the 2026 Golden Globes ceremony.
They were about his role in the mega-hit film F1.
“When a man turns 60, he gets to play a race car driver. Meanwhile, after 35, every role for a woman is a tired mom who hates her life."
“Brad, you were so good enough when I was almost convinced that you’ve driven yourself somewhere in the last 30 years. But Brad did a lot of his own driving in the movie. And Brad, I don’t want to embarrass you, but your blinker was on the whole time," she adds.
Regardless of the reception Nikki's hosting received, the Golden Globes saw another dip in viewership, with only 8.66 million viewers tuning in, a 7% drop from last year.
