King Charles deepens public frustration with major move involving Andrew
King Charles by saying nothing, has allowed the "silence itself to now become the story"
King Charles has reportedly deepened public frustration with a major move related to his disgraced brother former Duke of York Andrew.
According to a report by the Radar Online, King Charles, in his Christmas speech, did not refer to former Duke of York or the damage the scandal has inflicted on the House of Windsor.
This was the first Christmas speech by King Charles after the monarch stripped Andrew of his remaining royal titles and privileges and taken steps to distance the monarchy from his disgraced younger brother following renewed controversy over the former prince's long-standing relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
The critics have argued the monarch’s message avoided the most pressing issue facing the monarchy.
A senior royal insider said, "There was a clear expectation that the King would at least acknowledge the crisis surrounding Andrew.
"By saying nothing, he has allowed the silence itself to now become the story."
The mole added the omission was deliberate but risky.
"Charles has taken firm action privately, effectively sidelining Andrew from any public role," the insider said.
There was a 'widespread expectation' that King Charles would also demonstrate leadership in public by confronting the issue directly during the most important address of the royal calendar.
Reacting to King Charles move, a former royal adviser said the monarch has demonstrated that he can take tough decisions "But leadership also requires confronting uncomfortable truths publicly, and for many observers, that opportunity has now passed."
