Andrew’s links to Jeffrey Epstein leave monarchy facing one of its worst years
‘Disgraced’ Andrew’s scandal continues to be major headache for King Charles, Royal family, expert
Former Prince Andrew’s continued association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has overshadowed every other issue the monarchy has ever faced, an expert has claimed.
According to royal experts, the former Duke of York’s antics have made it one of the most damaging periods in recent royal history.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, royal experts Simon Viger, Ailsa Anderson and Matt Wilkinson discussed how Andrew’s scandals tops the other royal controversies.
Despite Andrew’s repeated denials of wrongdoing, experts said the controversy has continued for years and remains deeply harmful for the royal family and the monarchy.
“I think it’s number one. I think it’s got the top billing because this story has been here for 15 years,” said Anderson.
Agreeing to her, Viger shared, “The allegations around Epstein are so disgraceful. Obviously, Andrew denies that he was involved in that, but the whole thing is so toxic.
“The payoff of millions of pounds to a woman he says he’s never met, and it’s dragged on for so long,” he continued.
“It’s an existential threat to the monarchy, when you have something that disgraceful so close to the crown.”
Anderson further shared that the royal family had a “devastating” year, adding that Andrew’s links to Epstein “shows clearly his total lack of judgement.”
‘Disgraced’ Andrew had “been caught out in a lie on a global scale,” the expert added.
