King Charles unable to stop Andrew controversy from haunting the monarchy
Royal experts warn 'disgraced' Andrew’s actions remain a long-term challenge for King Charles
King Charles may be working harder than ever, however, royal expert claimed that the monarch has not done enough to fully contain the fallout from Andrew’s scandals this year.
Despite a packed year of official engagements, including historic visits and hosting state events, that too while battling cancer, royal expert said Andrew’s actions have cast a shadow over Charles’ work.
Royal expert Phil Dampier said the issues surrounding the former prince are “going to spill over into the New Year” as more Epstein files are to be released.
To add to it, an updated book by Andrew Lownie on “disgraced” Andrew’s life, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, will also hit the shelves this year to keep the controversy alive.
He said, “Unfortunately, the whole year’s been dominated by Andrew,” adding, “Both the King and William are desperate to try and draw a line under it.”
Majesty magazine’s Joe Little added that while the situation has been managed to some extent, Andrew’s presence will remain a recurring challenge for the King.
“He’s certainly not let the grass grow under his feet,” Little said. “That in itself is a good sign that he feels able to do all these things.”
Agreeing with Dampier’s remarks, the expert added, “Andrew will continue to come back and be a nagging pain from time to time.
“It’ll be a long time before it can be put to bed, if ever. It has been tidied up a lot but it’s never going to be totally resolved.”
