Rob Reiner’s son Nick once wrecked parents’ guest house while high
Inside Nick Reiner’s troubled years before his parents’ murder
Rob Reiner's troubled son Nick once admitted to destroying their guest house while on meth years ago.
Nick, who has been arrested and charged with the murder of his parents, Rob and Michele Singer Reiner, admitted that the incident took place a decade ago.
He admitted in a 2018 episode of the Dopey podcast that the year prior, he had “gotten totally spun out on uppers” and “went 10 rounds” in his parents’ guest house.
“I started punching out different things in my guest house. I started with the TV, and then I went over to the lamp. Everything got wrecked,” he said. “I don’t even remember if I hurt myself… There was no logic to my actions.”
Nick began struggling with drug addiction as a teenager and was in and out of rehab until he was 19.
He and his father collaborated once on the film Being Charlie, which explored Nick’s addiction and family dynamics.
Rob and Michele, married in 1989, also shared a son, Jake, and a daughter, Romy, while Rob also had a daughter, Tracy, from a previous marriage.
Romy was the one who reportedly found the couple dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home.
