As anticipation for the Avengers: Doomsday trailer was at fever pitch, it reportedly leaked.
At least that's how several Marvel fans believe after the footage, slightly over a minute long though grainy, shows the return of Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America.
His entry, meanwhile, appears to fit in with what insiders on social media were claiming: the studio is planning to release four trailers for the movie – a first for the franchise – with each teaser, or at max three of them, showing the comic book's legacy characters.
“Disney is sending theaters four different trailers for the Marvel mega-movie — each will play for one week, before switching to the next. So, if you see Fire and Ash opening weekend, you’ll get trailer one. If you go a week later, you’ll get trailer two, and so on," an insider earlier told The Hollywood Reporter.
With Captain America returning in the first teaser, others would expect to see Thor and Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. Reports also claim the fourth teaser might feature a general trailer for the upcoming movie.
Fans on social media go gaga over what some say is a leak of Avengers: Doomsday trailer.
"So he had a kid when he went back? one user asks, as in the purported clip, Steve Rogers was seen with a baby as he stands beside Peggy Carter played by Hayley Atwell.
Another fan adds, "We missed u steve."
In addition, the Russo Brothers, who have helmed the forthcoming film, previously shared a tease, which fans have been decoding, that is a photo showing a blurry black-and-white object.
Moreover, the directing brother duo recently spoke at the SDCC panel, stating, "Being able to create stories and explore characters within the Marvel Universe fulfilled a life-long dream of ours, and we discovered a powerful connection with audiences in each film that we made.
Avengers: Doomsday will appear in theatres on Dec 18, 2026.
