Disney icon Dick Van Dyke turns 100 today: 'Will live on forever'
Legendary Hollywood star Dick Van Dyke marks a century today
Dick Van Dyke marks his 100th birthday today.
On December 13, 2025, the legendary American actor and comedian turned 100-year-old and is over the moon for reaching a milestone.
While recently conversing with PEOPLE magazine, Dyke said he “feels about 13,” and despite struggling to recall what he had for breakfast, he still perfectly remembers his beloved show tune lyrics word for word.
The Dick Van Dyke Show star quipped, “I don’t know why but I just do.”
His wife, Arlene Silver, also showed her happiness by saying, “He is a little slower, but I mean, man, he's still got it!”
She went on to open up about his legacy, stating, “He’ll live on forever,” as his magical performances in The Dick Van Dyke Show, Chitty Chatty Bang, Bye Bye Birdie, Mary Poppins, and The Morning After made him a national treasure to multiple generations.
However, Dyke himself does not believe in his worldwide popularity and is still in denial.
Silver explained, “I tell him all the time, but I still don't think he understands. He's like, ‘Oh. I've been around a long time.’ It's beyond that. It's not just that you've been around a long time. You're in people's blood. In people's hearts and souls. How many people can say that? I got fan mail the other day, a 4-year-old who loves The Dick Van Dyke Show. It's her favorite show. It's so beautiful."
It is pertinent to mention that Dick Van Dyke was born on December 13, 1925, in West Plains, Missouri, United States.
