Andrew set to face another humiliation by King Charles despite promised allowance
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s plight after losing out on nearly half a million pounds gets out
A royal expert has just come forward in regards to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s future allowance he will start to receive via his brother King Charles, after his move to Sandringham, a privately owned property gets official.
For those unversed, for multiple years Andrew has been residing in the Royal Lodge, alongside his ex-wife, who will henceforth be finding her own accommodation.
However, despite all the changes already having happened to Andrew in 2025, like his prince title being stripped, right alongside his dukedom, military honors and more, royal editor Rebecca English, believes more may be afoot.
She spoke of this during an episode for the Daily Mail's Palace Confidential podcast.
In that conversation she admitted, that the Palace may still be looking to “knock off a few pounds here or there” off his allowance because “no-one wants to see public money being paid to Andrew.”
However this change would be monumental for the former prince whose enjoyed a hefty payout, the last official numbers for which were available back in 2010 at £249,000 a year in 2010. Since then no new information has since come to light.
However according to The Guardian he has received nearly £13m to fund his royal work, according to their own investigation.
That is why royal expert Richard Eden also stepped forward a bit later and sympathized with his plight saying, “I think all of us would miss half a million pounds.” Because “remember in the future he is going to be dependent on The King's generosity,” he clarified. “He's going to be living at The King's private estate, Sandringham, and given an allowance by his brother The King.”
