Meghan Markle sparks reactions as she reaches out to father after surgery

Royal fans have expressed their views after Meghan Markle reached out to her father Thomas Markle, following reports that he underwent surgery to amputate his left leg and is currently in intensive care.

The People quoted Meghan’s spokesperson as saying: “I can confirm she has reached out to her father."

Meghan’s spokesperson did not provide further details, however, the outlet, citing the source notes that the outreach from the duchess is very recent, following the reports of her father's medical emergency.

Commenting on the report, one royal fan said, “It is sad that tragedy in the family, brings people back together- especially when it is too late.”

Another said, “Too little, too late. He paid for her private schooling, took care of her from when she was 11 through 18, and paid for her to go to university while her mother traveled the world. THIS is the best she can do? Shame on her.”

The third said, “I am pleased for Thomas Markle's sake that MM has finally reached out to him. A bit too little too late though. All those years he has missed out on his grandchildren. It's quite sad.”

“Better late than never”, the fourth said and added, “Let's hope it is not too little too late. Carrying guilt over actions not taken is a heavy burden when it is too late to act.”

One more commented, “I wonder if this wonderful daughter will go to the Philippines to spend time with him and help with his recovery.”
