Robert Irwin on 'DWTS' win's impact on conservation work
Robert Irwin won the 2025 season of 'DWTS' alongside partner Witney Carson
Robert Irwin has followed in his sister Bindi’s footsteps by winning the Dancing with the Stars competition.
The finale took place on Tuesday, November 25, and the conservationist once again left audiences mesmerized with his partner Witney Carson. Robert won the Mirrorball Trophy a decade after his sister won the same with her partner Derek Hough.
"To follow in those footsteps and to do the same has meant everything to me," he gushed backstage at the show’s finale, per People.
"This has absolutely changed my life," the 21-year-old remarked.
For Robert, lifting the trophy is an opportunity to spread his family’s message about conservation, their Australia Zoo, and their charity, Wildlife Warriors.
"It's about making the world a better place. And when I watched her lift that Mirrorball, I saw her lifting that message," he said.
Steve Irwin’s son went on to praise his pro dancing partner, saying, "I'm just so grateful that I was here on this journey with Witney. You've got me forever,” he said. "Witney pours her heart and soul into this, and I'm just so happy that we are here."
Witney in turn heaped praise on Robert Irwin, saying, "I feel like I've been so proud of you week to week, and just to see you shine has been one of my biggest highlights in my life, and I just am so, so proud of you."
