David Beckham visits Princess Kate's route for 'rewards'
Princess Kate on nature’s power to heal, inspire, and grow
David Beckham is following in Princess Kate’s leafy footsteps.
The newly knighted sports icon is set to team up with horticulturist and Gardeners’ World presenter Frances Tophill to help design a garden for the 2026 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
A keen gardener at his Cotswolds home, where he tends bees, chickens, and sprawling flowerbeds, Beckham will act as an ambassador for The King’s Foundation, collaborating with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to bring the Curious Garden to life.
The project aims to spark curiosity about gardening and highlight the vital role plants play in nurturing people, places, and the planet.
Sharing his excitement on Instagram, David wrote, “My love for the countryside started when I was a child visiting my grandparents.
I've experienced how rewarding gardening can be and that’s why I'm looking forward to working with The RHS and The King’s Foundation on their Curious Garden at the 2026 Chelsea Flower Show.
I hope we inspire people to get outside into nature and to try something new.”
Princess Kate famously embraced it in 2019 when she created the Back to Nature garden.
She is a longtime champion of the natural world, also recently highlighted her own passion for gardening in her video series Mother Nature, launched this May.
She said, “Over the past year, nature has been my sanctuary. The natural world's capacity to inspire us, to nurture us and help us heal and grow is boundless and has been understood for generations.”
